HEARTH
2024 HONORARIA PROJECT
HEARTH is an immersive ART installation that invites participants to explore the depths of human emotions and their connection to our planet EARTH.
Suspended within a metal cage, a wooden HEART symbolizes the interplay between EARTH, HEART, and ART. Participants can enter the cage as well as the suspended HEART to discover an inner chamber that can facilitate personal healing, reflection, and connection to EARTH.
HEARTH's visual impact is heightened by illuminated metal continents and pulsating lights synchronizing with the HEART's rhythm, creating a mesmerizing atmosphere. HEARTH draws on the interplay between liberation, confinement, individual, and collective.
2024 BURNING MAN HONORARIA
We are so grateful to have been selected, as this grant will fund a large portion of our project! However, this will only fund about half of the cost! We still need help from our community to raise an additional $20k! The additional money raised will go to purchasing materials, lighting, and sound.
THE ARTIST, McKENZIE GENIN
HEARTH is McKenzie Genin's first large public art sculpture, which encourages a shift in perspective from the individual human experience to a broader, collective, and planetary viewpoint. It is within the embrace of community where her art finds its true resonance, a shared journey of healing and empowerment, enriching lives beyond the confines of solitude.
